Waters Deep

As the moon tumbled down
the leaves flailed all around
Into the night it is she crept
while her parents soundly slept

The waters beckoned on that night
she walked near without a fright
Eleven days had finally passed
And new meaning she had grasped

Words to her were spoken dear
that on that night she should appear
Without the Lord or Lady Hugh
She'd see in time what was due

And in the waters cold and deep
she saw the fire of the keep
Outside they would surround
the soldiers full and battle bound

But if her father could but know
the enemies plans to overthrow
He would lure them near in time
foiling them with his design.
